It's been a minute since my last post so I thought I'd better get down to it. I've been wanting to write about a particular subject but haven't really been able to solidify my opinions. So I'll do my best and then borrow from the intellect of some others. Perhaps my indecision is a testimony to the complexity of the subject.
Female friendships are important to the strength of a woman. Oftentimes, as women we are willing to forgive terrible betrayals by the men we love but have a harder time forgiving our friends for merely being human.
Do we have higher standards for our female friends? Are we more defensive because we reveal so much to our pals, making us more vulnerable? Could it be that new people in our lives are so threatened by the depth of our friendships that they slowly undermine the relationship until we think the friendship is no longer worth our time and attention?
Let's not have our friendships fall victim to judgment, fear, and insecurity.
For my girls, that may be reading this I love you all and I'm grateful that you are a part of my life.
